Planning Your Studio Newborn Session | Austin, TX

Are you thinking about or getting ready for planning your studio newborn session? I thought it might be fun to mix things up this week with more of a how-to post for those expecting or just planning a little ahead.

Planning Your Studio Newborn Session

Here in my Austin photography studio, I love to hold my clients’ hands through the entire process of documenting the first season with their new baby. Whether this is their first or fifth baby, the process is always straightforward and enjoyable for the entire family.

When To Plan

If you already have a due date on the calendar, it’s a great idea to go ahead and start thinking about when to plan your newborn session. If you’re curious about the right age for a newborn session, I have an entire post just for you.

I typically book my calendar our four to five months in advance, so be sure to get in touch early in your pregnancy.

I have the entire studio set up with everything you will need. You will need to bring the necessities for baby (an extra bottle and diapers, etc), but other than that, you’ll just need to bring yourselves.

How To Plan Your Day

Your wardrobe will be steamed and ready for you when you arrive so that we can get started right after hair and makeup. You won’t need to stress about what to wear or how to get it all to the studio.

We also structure the session around baby’s needs, so be sure not to plan anything immediately after your session. However, we do encourage you to take advantage of hair and makeup and plan a little date after your session if you can. It’s such a fun way to celebrate the occasion if you’re up for it!

This precious baby already had a head full of hair and the sweetest little personality. He was the sleepiest little guy and loved being swaddled. He even got a photo with his whole family, including his puppy brothers. I love that Mom and Dad will have these sweet moments documented! I know it will always be a special memory for them!
