As an Austin newborn and maternity photographer, I have had the honor of documenting the biggest milestones for families over the years! It’s not often that I get to photograph baby gender reveal sessions though, so this was an extra special session.

When this family arrived at the studio you could tell they were just so excited! Big sister was all smiles and it made for such a fun day.

Mom and I spoke prior to the session about how they wanted to make this special for their oldest daughter. She got to pick out a dress from the client wardrobe (as did Mom!) and both were pampered with professional hair and makeup when they arrived.

We started off the session by documenting just the three of them together. We also had  a lot of sweet moments between just Mom, baby bump, and big sister. When I asked big sis if she thought baby was a boy of girl, she was VERY hopeful for a girl! It was so precious.

Once we completed all of the important family photos, it was gender reveal time!

They brought an adorable gender reveal box with them so we set it up on the table in the studio. Once they removed the lid, a flutter of paper butterflies emerged in the color of baby number two’s gender.

It was so unique and such a fun way for big sister to do the reveal.
