This playful family photo session in Austin was one of those sessions that just fills up my cup as a photographer. It had everything I love about this job- the sweetest family, a giggly toddler full of energy, beautiful light, and dreamy pastel colors.

I had the honor of photographing this adorable little girl once before for a simplicity studio session. Even though it hadn’t been long since her last session, she had grown so much! She’s full of personality and her parents are completely smitten with her, and rightly so!

This beautiful location with all of the tall grass provided a big, open space for this family of three to simply have fun together. It ended up being one of the most playful sessions yet! Mom and Dad just truly embraced the moment together, soaking up those toddler hugs as much as possible. We let her explore her environment while her beautiful curls bounced all about. The pink knit romper was perfect for our mild winter weather here in Austin, too!

When Mom and Dad booked this family session, they asked if Grandma and their little girl’s Uncle could join in for a few photos. Of course I said yes! We added them for a few traditional portraits at the end of the session. I’m so glad they could be a part of it!

It is my hope that families remember these sweet moments without the stress of planning their session. At times I know life with littles can feel so busy and overwhelming. If we don’t take a moment to pause and document this stage of life, we’ll miss out on preserving these memories. Not just for the parents, but for their children too. This playful family photo session will be so perfect in a custom-designed album as a tangible reminder of their love.

Custom Staircase Gallery Wall Design

After their session, we worked this family’s favorite images from each of their sessions into a custom wall gallery design. I know so many clients feel intimidated by the staircase when it comes to planning and hanging artwork, but it’s such a perfect location to display your family’s images. The staircase is also a great place to start a wall gallery that will grow with you as your family grows.
