Sometimes it feels like baby’s first year is simultaneously the quickest and the longest year of motherhood. It’s filled with incredible, joyful moments, but also a lot of tired ones too! (Hello, four month sleep regression!)
But no matter how many babies I photograph for both their newborn and one year sessions, I’m still in awe over how much they change in that timeframe. I love being able to document these milestones to freeze this time for Mamas. It’s truly bittersweet seeing them grow, isn’t it?

The focus is on all of the new skills your baby has learned, like sitting, crawling, pulling up, big smiles and even walking for some!
Simplicity Sessions for Baby’s First Birthday Milestone
Simplicity sessions are quick, 20-minute sessions that take place in the studio for milestones like baby’s first birthday. They are limited to baby only, but you do have access to the client wardrobe if you’d like to utilize it!
Your baby’s milestone photos in my Austin, Texas studio can be customized by including a cake smash and use of minimal props to show off all of those new skills! As you can see, we get a LOT of variety in just 20 minutes!
I usually suggest trying one or two outfits changes if baby cooperates, too. The client wardrobe offers a wide variety of outfits for your little one. My personal favorites are rompers that can show off some of their rolls before they grow out of them!
When to Book Milestone Photos in Austin, Texas
I usually suggest reaching out to schedule your baby’s sessions about 2 months in advance for the best availability. Though many like to schedule during their previous session to make sure they don’t forget as the one year mark approaches!
